What is consensus forecasting?
No single weather model gets every day right. MetaBlend compares weather forecasts from 16 independent sources for any place on earth: global models like ECMWF and GFS, national services like MET Norway and the NWS, and commercial providers. All of them are blended into one number you can actually trust.
Every hour, yesterday’s predictions are checked against measured airport weather reports (METAR). Sources that keep getting a region right earn more weight in the consensus, and sources that drift lose influence. The confidence percentage shows how strongly the sources agree right now.
The result is a weather consensus that is steadier than any single app, because one bad model run simply gets outvoted. And since the scoring never stops, MetaBlend keeps measuring how accurate each weather forecast really is, region by region and city by city.
